THE CHALLENGE

Guests remember the checkout as much as the check-in.

What hotel, inn, bar and venue operators tell us complicates payments.

01

Pre-authorizations and incidentals

Holds at check-in, adjustments at check-out and incidental charges must be handled correctly to avoid disputes and frustrated guests.

02

Too many places to pay

Front desk, restaurant, bar, spa and events often run on separate systems, so revenue is hard to reconcile.

03

Deposits and cancellations

Group bookings, weddings and events rely on deposits and clear cancellation terms collected well before the date.

04

Seasonal peaks

Summer, festivals and the holidays bring volume spikes that your terminals, staff and cash flow must absorb.

WHAT SAVPAY SETS UP

One payment setup across your property.

We configure the processor, terminals and connections for rooms, outlets and events.

Pre-authorizations & incidentals

Card holds at check-in, adjustments at check-out and incidental charges handled cleanly on the terminal.

Property-management connections

Payments that connect with your property-management or booking system where it supports our processors.

Bar tabs & outlet POS

Open tabs, tips and splits for bars and restaurants, connected to the same account as the front desk.

Deposits & event payments

Deposits, instalments and final balances for groups, weddings and events, by payment link or card on file.

Portable terminals on site

Handheld devices for the terrace, the pool, the banquet hall or the shuttle — wherever your guests are.

International guests

Accept major international cards and mobile wallets, with receipts in French or English.

BAR & RESTAURANT

Outlets that keep up on the busiest night.

Bars and restaurants run on speed. Open tabs, tips and split bills work right on the terminal, and every outlet reports into the same account as the front desk, so your night audit is simpler.

  • Open tabs with card pre-authorization
  • Tips and splits handled at the table or the bar
  • Outlet reporting by shift and server
  • MEV / WEB-SRM-compliant POS options for Québec bars and restaurants

ROOMS & EVENTS

Deposits and balances without the chasing.

Collect a deposit when the booking is confirmed, send payment links for balances and charge incidentals at check-out. Every payment is recorded against the guest or event, with a clear trail if questions come up.

  • Booking deposits by payment link or card on file
  • Instalment schedules for weddings and groups
  • Clear records to help resolve disputes
  • Receipts in French or English

HOW SWITCHING WORKS

Switching to SavPay, in four steps.

We handle the paperwork, the setup and the training — and plan the change around your current agreement.

  1. 1

    Share a recent statement

Send one or two recent processing statements, or simply tell us your monthly volume and average sale. There is no cost and no commitment.

  2. 2

    Review your proposal

We match you with the processor, pricing model and hardware that fit, and walk you through every line. Once you agree, approval usually takes about 24 hours.

  3. 3

    Set up and test

We configure terminals for each outlet, set pre-authorization and tip rules, connect your property-management system and POS where supported, and test the full stay from check-in to check-out.

  4. 4

    Go live with local support

Your bilingual team in Montréal trains your staff, stays close for the first weeks and reviews your account with you as you grow.

FAQ

Hospitality payment questions, answered.

How do pre-authorizations work at check-in?+
The terminal places a hold on the guest's card for the expected amount. At check-out, you complete the charge for the final total, incidentals included, and the remaining hold is released according to the card issuer's timelines.
Can the front desk, restaurant and bar share one account?+
Yes. Outlets can settle to one merchant account with reporting by outlet, or use separate accounts if they're run as separate businesses.
Do you connect with property-management systems?+
Many property-management and booking systems connect to the processors we offer. We confirm the options for your system and set up the payment side.
How should we collect deposits for events and groups?+
We set up payment links or card-on-file authorizations for deposits, instalments and final balances, with your cancellation terms clearly shown to the guest.
Does MEV / WEB-SRM apply to hotel bars and restaurants?+
Revenu Québec's mandatory billing rules cover the restaurant and bar sector, which can include outlets inside a hotel. We help you confirm what applies to each outlet and point you to certified POS options.
How do you help with guest chargebacks?+
Clear pre-authorizations, signed folios or receipts and documented cancellation terms are your strongest defence. We help you put them in place and guide you through any dispute with the right documentation.
